Museum quality art for entertainment industry profit

At Active Voice Productions, we believe that all art sends a message and that entertainment is just art that reaches a vast number of people. The job of the artist within the entertainment industry is to meet the practical, financial needs of the corporations who finance America’s great entertainments while delivering valuable, empowering, ethically grounded and artistically considered product to the enormous audience we all serve. This sense of moral responsibility infuses everything this company produces and supports.

Active Voice Productions began as a small, free range, company designed to produce Dylan Brody’s THREE SPECIALS IN ONE NIGHT event at the Mark Taper Foundation’s David Henry Hwang Theater. This independently produced, five camera shoot proved that Mr. Brody’s work as a raconteur had a viable place in the wider humorscape. With the near-immediate licensing of two of those specials to streaming services the company became a going concern.

DYLAN BRODY CEO, Active Voice ProductionsFor fifteen years I have been saying that when science is denied, the arts marginalized and education underfunded we enter a dark age and must all engage work to emerge into a renaissance. I entirely forgot that a plague comes in between. Now we all feel our creative impulses stirring. We remember, suddenly, that we labor under the crushing urgency of mortality.

DYLAN BRODY
CEO, Active Voice Productions

For fifteen years I have been saying that when science is denied, the arts marginalized and education underfunded we enter a dark age and must all engage work to emerge into a renaissance. I entirely forgot that a plague comes in between.

Now we all feel our creative impulses stirring. We remember, suddenly, that we labor under the crushing urgency of mortality.

Now, Active Voice Productions, llc has produced the award-winning Corona Dialogues, YOU ARE HERE – a dylan brody project, an experimental feature film starring Paul Provenza and Michele Martin; Singing in the Wrong Direction a one-woman musical comedy about bipolar disorder and addiction (starring Robyn Heller);  Road Tested, a new collaborative album with singer-songwriter Chauncey Bowers; a growing archive of Darren Staley’s podcast episodes, recording almost-weekly out of North Carolina. AVP oversaw the recording, production and release of the Breathing Exercises for Writers audio series. It has provided episodic scripts for dozens of animated children’s episodes for Little Airplane Productions, U Young (China) and Nelvana (Canada).

Since that explosive evening in the sold out David Henry Hwang Theater when Mr. Brody understood that Executive Producing, writing, and performing empowered him to bring the work he valued most into the world, he has expanded the company’s mission to support the work of performers, ideas, and productions in which he sees value and unrecognized or under-recognized talent. In addition to its production and scripting services, Active Voice Productions also supports writers and creatives with coaching programs, editorial, ghost-writing and consulting services. You can find Mr. Brody and ask him about these things via the interwebs. The corner office is open unless he’s writing.

Are you ready? Let’s do good work!
